(Continued) - 12-9-13 $312.50 + $135.00 Best successful live paper trade day - UK & US - 'ah-ha' moment ... Consistency with known risk and rule-based contract adjustments

US Session - continuation from earlier UK session

  • Really good trading today .... definitely worth studying.
  • Ended at 12 noon as scheduled
  • Was a struggle not to overtrade before then, especially since hit the target quota over $200 for the day was hit after 1st trade for NY session
  • Ended up with $312.50 / $150.00 tally.
  • Finally got a target goal worth achieving and emulating for consistency.
  • If can get even half would also work out well !!

    312.50     using NinjaTrader

    135.00     using JForex

  • Also simultaneously traded FX paper trade on another platform which also worked out fine
  • Traded GBP-USD for UK session and EUR-USD for the US using same rules.
  • Did not trade any 1 minute scalp trades by time market slowed down

Best successful live paper trade - UK 12-9-13, A likely AH-HA moment - Analyze this one !

Today's trading may have been an 'ah-ha' moment ... relatively stress-free trading.
Aiming for consistent known risk and contract adjustment.

  • Showered before sleep, fresh at UK open
  • Prepped all charts while waiting for ATO for roadmap and other levels
  • Traded based on level analysis and ATR's, combined with new 1 or 2 contract level depending on trade setup

    < 4 ticks, trading 2 contracts
    > 4 ticks, trading 1 contract

All other rules remain the same

  • Messed up on not obeying prove-it stop rule, but waited on slow market and it worked out based on X5 rules

  • Did not trade 1 min scalping for this session.

LESSON - The Market at work

Although not the best trading, it was a lesson in the market's reaction and flow related to the roadmap levels.

Replay 12-3-13 - 6E US Session - Bad trading - Scalping within final 11 - 15 minutes, Ignoring prove-it stop

  • Had $62.50 profit before final trade and left it WAY too long
  • did not follow rules at all
  • ended up with negative $50.loss
  • ignored prove-it stop

Replay 12-3-13 - UK Session - 6E - ended with $12.50 gain (from $100.00)

Messed around too much with Roadmap reversal level and lost majority of gains for session.

Closed off at $12.50 profit.

Hesitated too long following rules for blueprint prove it stop.

12-3-13 Replay - UK & US - $150.00 Following rules to the T - Good Trading to be emulated with consistency

Everything on today's replay was
  • done manually (without atlas line or software postings), and
  • following the rules with very conservative entries during the UK session.
  • After the initial ATO trade, everything else was done using the Trade Scalper method, with 1 blueprint.
  • Also the ATO was entered again conservatively, but with 2 contracts vs standard 1.
  • Trading was stopped at the appropriate end of session at 6:30 to resist over trading
  • incurred major loss not following exit rules
  • $150.00

UK SESSION

US SESSION

  • I attempted to continue the same style trading for the US session sticking to the rules and VERY conservative targets
  • Aimed for stopping at end of session as well
  • Near the end of session had a losing trade when did not follow exit rules
  • Tried to compensate and make up for mistake with 2 contracts on next trade

END RESULTS SUMMARY

  • Although 1 loss, it was very damaging for what was gained for the session.
  • Day ended ok overall profit
