TFL365 - Sample Weekly Profit/Loss Tracking - Brad's Rules

Some of Brad's 18 rules .... very good and dimple yet informative interview.
  • Testing an account using $0.20 per pip trading, over 9 weeks.
  • Bringing account up from a draw down of $600, doubling it with new "cloud method"
  • Aiming for another double to $4,000. which will serve as confirmation and validation to add more funds to account.
RULE # 1
A system that does not include rules and procedures for risk management
is not a complete system, it is just a high probability pattern.

RULE # 4
Learn to take a loss. Every trade must have hard stop loss from the moment it is opened, and that stop loss should only move in the direction of the target. Trading without losses is impossible.

RULE # 5
Experts are more successful than generalists.
Challenge yourself to trade only one system on only one financial
instrument and ignore the distraction of shiny new trading systems.

RULE # 13
Keep your trading boring. It is bookkeeping not sky diving.
Seek excitement in other areas of your life. Entertaining trading is losing trading.

There's "something" about this system that seems to simply work .. can't yet put my finger on it, although he does explain the old school ethod of the setup

Backtesting it seems to be in an average gain range of 15 - 50 and then at times up to 100+ pips

Mirus / NinjaTrader downtime affect traders for over a week.

The NinjaTrader (NT) forums today are very busy!

A couple of days ago, NT traders using a Zen-Fire data feed were told they HAD to close their trades (whether in profit or loss) and update to a new version of NinjaTrader.

However, what they were not told was that this new version wasn't properly tested, was full of bugs and hardly worked.

At the cut-off point when everyone was forced to switch over to the new version and problems and snags were to be expected, guess what?! The support desk was closed. Users were assured that all would be fixed by the time markets opened on Sunday night (GMT).

Except that nothing was fixed. The markets are now open, NT traders are screaming blue murder and the responsible parties haven't come forward to admit the mistakes or provide any assurances of a quick resolution. People aren't able to connect, when they do connect they get disconnected randomly, strategies they've setup aren't working, data is all messed up and wrong figures are coming in through the feed (10X the amount they should be!), charts have reverted to previous contract periods, orders are going haywire and people are losing money ....
